Fibrations in Group Theory and Topology

The study of fibrations in hyperbolic manifolds and groups is experiencing a period of remarkable growth. Classical techniques have been refined and adapted, allowing new higher dimensional examples to be built, and the interplay between geometry and cohomology has significantly expanded the toolkit available for a more algebraic approach.

The aim of this conference is to gather together experts in the area to connect different methods and techniques and to outline a plan to tackle the main open questions in the field.

Billiards and Stars: Geometry and Dynamics

This conference will explore profound connections and reciprocal insights between the seemingly disparate fields of mathematical billiard dynamics and celestial mechanics. In both areas the geometric and symplectic tools play crucial role, and the description of periodic orbits, caustics and singularities of the solutions, conditions for the emergence of chaos often lead to the appearance of very general universal methods.

Fostering the cross-pollination of these two domains is the main goal of the conference. It is also informally devoted to the joint 70th birthday of the two finest specialists on those respective domains, billiards and celestial mechanics: Sergei Tabachnikov (PennState U) and Richard Montgomery (UC Santa Cruz).

The meeting will bring together researchers working at the intersection of geometry, dynamical systems, and mathematical physics, with applications to non- holonomic dynamics and theoretical robotics.

String Math 2026

String-Math is the largest and most prestigious annual event at the interface between pure mathematics and theoretical physics, bringing together mathematicians and physicists whose work lies at the interface between string theory, quantum field theory, and mathematics. The conferences keep a rough balance between physics and mathematics, with the aim of stimulating interactions between the two communities. The schedule may include ‘paired talks’ by mathematicians and physicists on the same topic, as well as open or focused discussion sessions.

Geometry, Dynamics, and Computer-Assisted Proofs

The fields of geometry, dynamics, and geometric group theory have become increasingly intertwined over the past few decades, with deep connections emerging between their fundamental structures and techniques. At the same time, computer aided proofs have grown into a powerful tool in mathematical research, beginning with Haken’s groundbreaking resolution of the four-color problem. This conference seeks to bring together researchers and students from these fields to explore their rich interplay and the ways in which computational methods can advance our understanding of key problems.

Young Topologists Meeting

The Young Topologists Meeting (YTM) is an annual conference for graduate students, recent PhDs, and other junior researchers in topology, both pure and applied. This meeting is an opportunity for young researchers in topology to share their work and make new connections. In addition to short talks given by the participants, the program features two guest lecture series, by Luciana Basualdo Bonatto (Oxford) and Achim Krause (Oslo).

Early Career Number Theorists in South-Eastern Europe (ECNTSEE)

The inaugural ECNTSEE conference aims to strengthen number theory in South-Eastern Europe by bringing together early-career researchers for a programme of research talks, a career and funding panel, and structured networking.

Number theory is one of the most active areas of modern mathematics, lying at the interface of algebra, geometry and analysis. Its scope runs from the study of prime numbers—driving research on deep conjectures such as the Riemann Hypothesis—to the arithmetic of elliptic curves and other algebraic varieties, where the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture remains a central open problem. Recent decades have witnessed spectacular breakthroughs. In addition, questions originating within number theory resonate widely across diverse areas, driving research in data encryption, theoretical physics among other disciplines.

Nonetheless, this vitality is not reflected evenly across regions. South-Eastern Europe has a strong tradition in number theory, with many of its researchers thriving in leading institutions abroad, but at home early-career mathematicians often face limited opportunities and institutional support. This conference aims is to foster collaboration and establish a lasting regional network in number theory.

Irish Mathematical Society Annual Meeting

The Irish Mathematical Society (IMS) is the principal umbrella organization dedicated to the promotion and furthering of mathematics and mathematical research in Ireland. Founded in 1976, its 50th anniversary will be celebrated at Trinity College Dublin – Ireland’s leading university. To mark the special occasion, the 2026 IMS Annual Meeting will host plenary talks by world–class international researchers.

The conference will provide an opportunity for discussions on a vast and colourful variety of topics of current interest to mathematicians, and it will strengthen the ties of Irish mathematics with the international community. It will provide a platform for mathematicians at all stages with a strong focus on the promotion of young researchers. A public lecture, as well as an educational plenary talk, will enable and strengthen the societal reach of mathematics.

Enumerative Geometry and Categorification

This discussion meeting will present recent developments in modern enumerative geometry, with an emphasis on curve- and sheaf-counting theories and their refinements. The programme will cover topics such as Gromov–Witten and Donaldson–Thomas invariants, their motivic and K-theoretic enhancements, and categorical invariants arising from derived categories and matrix factorizations. A particular focus will be on methods rooted in derived algebraic geometry and shifted symplectic structures, which have greatly advanced the computation and conceptual understanding of these invariants.

Over the past decades, ideas such as Kontsevich–Soibelman’s theory of refined DT invariants and the emergence of curve-counting frameworks for Landau–Ginzburg models have revealed deep connections between enumerative geometry, representation theory, and theoretical physics. This meeting aims to bring together researchers to explore these links and to provide a platform for advanced graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty in India to interact with leading experts working on these themes.

NZMRI 2026

The main focus of the NZMRI’s activities is an annual workshop on a chosen topic of contemporary significance in mathematics. At this workshop some of the world’s best mathematicians give lecture courses and interact with local researchers and graduate students.
